We're big, we're smart, we're human: we'll muddle through.

I hardly know how to write this except very directly. So here goes:

Of course abortion is the taking of a human life.

If the fetus is not alive, there’s no need for an abortion.

If the fetus is not human, there’s no also need for an abortion: the woman would carry her kittens (or puppies, or walrus, or whatever) to term, take care of them for a few short weeks, adopt them out, and go make a gazillion dollars on the talk show/book/movie circuit as the only human in history to bear kittens (puppies, walrus). Nice work if you can get it, actually.

Abortion ends a human life. The underlying rationale behind abortion is “life for me but not for thee”.

In my nice hypocritical way, I’m still pro-choice. But at least I recognize that I’m condoning state-sanctioned murder.
